"I am in Malaysia now! I am very sorry that I did not get to see you before I left Hanoi. After the baby was born things were really crazy. finishing up work at packing up the house with the 3 month old was pretty crazy. But I really do want to thank you. I cannot imagine my time in Vietnam if I did not have a chance to meet you. You showed me a side of Hanoi that I would have never been able to discover on my own. You and the rest of the artist/poet/singer/cartoonist crew are the reason that people always say Hanoi is a special place. Your work and your art are so important for Vietnam. You try new things and are experiment with language and ideas. You guys don't follow the script. You are cultural innovators. Inventors. The music and art you are all creating now will define Vietnamese society 20 years from now. It was a privilege getting a chance to be a part of it, if even for a short period. I hope we have a chance to meet again. If not in Hanoi, then Malaysia or some other interesting place."
